What the service is designed to avoid
Fenwick DataClean is not a public file hosting service. The main workflow is built around selecting local files, cleaning supported metadata in the browser whenever possible, and downloading the cleaned copies. You should still avoid uploading files that you do not have the right to process, files containing illegal material, or files that require a specialized compliance workflow.
Analytics and service data
Cleaning runs on your device, but usage records are sent to our service provider, Supabase. These include file names, file types, input and output sizes, cleaning status and errors, page paths, referring pages, campaign parameters, browser information, and visitor/session identifiers. Signed-in activity can be associated with your account. Source file bytes are not included in these records. Avoid private details in file names. Account data includes your name, email, phone and authentication information.
Advertising disclosure
Fenwick DataClean may use Google AdSense to support free access. Google and its partners may use cookies, identifiers, and similar technologies to serve, measure, and personalize ads depending on user settings and applicable law. Use cleaned copies for sharing, keep originals private when metadata matters, and review visible content before publishing. Data retention expectations
Users should not treat a browser-based cleaner as a long-term storage location. Download cleaned files after processing and store them wherever you normally keep public copies. Keep source files in your own private archive when they matter. If you no longer need a file, remove it from your local device or cloud storage according to your own privacy routine.
Children, homes, and sensitive places
Be especially careful with files that involve children, homes, medical settings, workplaces, private events, shelters, schools, or client locations. Removing metadata helps, but visible context can still reveal sensitive places. Review the image or video itself before sharing it publicly or with a large group.
